About Tickets

Are the tickets free?

Yes, the tickets are free.
But in order to attend the event registration is needed.

Until when can I register?

You can register until the last day of the event, which is June 26th (JST).

However, we will stop accepting applications for Contributor Days as soon as we run out of slots for each content. The number of participants may be increased, so please check this page.

Is it mandatory to get a ticket?

Information on how to participate in some of the content is only available to registered users to minimize vandalism and problems. Please get a free ticket to access all the contents.

I have yet to receive the confirmation email for my ticket registration.

Your ticket email will be sent from wordpress@wordcamp.org with the subject line “Ticket for WordCamp Japan 2021”.
Please also check your “Junk Mail (Spam)” folder just in case.

How can I participate in the event?

WordCamp Japan 2021 is an online event.

About the session

Sessions can be viewed on the top page of the official website or on YouTube on the day of the session.

About Contributor Days

The links to participate in Contributor Days content will be sent only to those who sign up here in advance.

About Networking

In order to participate the networking space, you must register for a ticket. You can interact with other attendees, sponsors, and speakers by accessing the oVice (virtual meeting tool) URL sent in the email.

Is there any particular installation or preparation for the tools?

Contributor Days will use Zoom. All other content can be accessed from your browser. Slack for participants is also available as an option, so please prepare an app if you wish to use it and need it.

Are there any instructions on how to use the tool?

We plan to let you know as soon as the manual is completed.

Where are the sponsor booths located?

Those who register their tickets before the event will receive a link for access via email just before the event. The location of the booth area will also be announced on the website at a later date.

Can I interact with the speakers?

Some of the speakers will be taking some time after the session to answer questions and talk in the social area. Those who register for tickets prior to the event will receive an email with a link for access just prior to the event.

About Networking

When are the receptions and social events held?

After Party is scheduled for 18:00-20:00 (JST) on the last session day (26th). Details of other social events are currently being worked out.

Which tools do you use for receptions and social gatherings?

We will be using a tool called oVice for the social space, which allows you to log in from your browser. We will send you an email prior to the event with instructions on how to access it.

*oVice recommends users to use with Google Chrome.

Can I ask for advice about my work?

Please use the “Job Board” available in the Exchange Space. Please use the “Job Board” in the Exchange Space to check all the messages from people who want to ask for a job or need a job.

I can’t get into oVice…

You may not be able to access the site depending on the time of day or environment. Please use a computer browser to access the site during the opening hours.

If you are using a smartphone, we recommend that you use Slack.

I don’t know the URL of oVice.

Others

Will the session videos be archived?

The session video will be available on WordPress.tv after the event.

Do you have original swags for the event?

We do not have any goods to distribute to participants, but we will have a official swag store.

We also have a media kit available. You can use the materials such as Wapu and key visuals to create original goods for the purpose of event participation and announcement.

Where can I contact the organizers?

Please try to use the inquiry form up to the day before the event, as it may take some time to respond to inquiries via Twitter or Facebook.

During the event, an information desk will also be set up in the oVice space where the exchange program will be held.

Is WordCamp an overnight event somewhere outdoors?

The name “Camp” does not mean “encampment” in the common sense of the word, but was originally a reference to another event called BarCamp, which was first held in San Francisco in 2006. Anyone who is interested in WordPress or loves WordPress is welcome, regardless of their skill level.
